The northernmost village on the island of Karpathos located 58 km northwest from the capital of Karpathos, Olympos is a village of exceptional beauty with White and pastel-washed buildings set atop rugged hills overlook clear, blue water. Olympos preserves a rich folk tradition and it is a live museum. The local spoken dialect preserves impressive remnants of ancient Greek. The traditional costume worn still on a daily basis by the older women also by the younger during festivals, makes the village an oasis of traditional culture in our modern times.
