Located on the east side of the island of Karpathos, Achata is a pebbly beach located in a bay surrounded by cliffs that are riddled with little caves. The drive to the beach is through a winding, curvy mountain full of pine trees and verdant vegetation. The waters at Achata have an amazing, attractive emerald-green color; they are clear and quickly get deep as you go into the sea. Sunbeds and parasols are available for rent, and there's a taverna for lunch.
